Horizon Europe
SUPER CAPACITOR - new materials for tomorrow's energy storage
The energy transition needs better storage. SUPER CAPACITOR researches ferrite-polymer materials for a new generation of supercapacitors - fast, durable, developed in Europe.

What it's about
Supercapacitors charge in seconds and survive tens of thousands of cycles - yet their limited energy density narrows their use. Where batteries are too slow and too sensitive, better supercapacitors could make the difference.
SUPER CAPACITOR researches novel ferrite-polymer materials to achieve a leap precisely here. The way there leads through many experiments - and through the question of how to draw the right conclusions from their data faster.
What makes it special
Materials research with a clear application horizon: more capable, durable storage for mobility, industry and the grid - developed in Europe, for European value creation.
Where it works
The consortium includes, among others, the University of Glasgow - excellent materials research, combined with applied development.
What Xient brings
As partner, Xient brings the data-driven side: from the structured analysis of materials experiments to models that shorten development cycles. This is data & analytics and artificial intelligence in the service of research - the same methodology with which we turn data into reliable decisions faster in companies.
From research into your value creation
In materials research, too, how cleverly you handle data increasingly decides. We bring this competence - data & analytics and traceable AI - from such projects back into our clients' practice.
Consortium & locations
From the Rhineland to Scotland: a European research consortium for tomorrow's energy storage.
