Renewables, storage, flexible loads, electromobility: Europe's energy system consists of ever more moving parts - more decentralised, faster and more complex than ever. Anyone who wants to operate and plan it needs a system that understands itself better.

GENESIS lays a generative AI over it as a digital backbone. It brings together data from the entire system and translates it into understandable, actionable insight - for operation, planning and resilience. The challenge lies less in the model than in trust: grid operators must be able to trace what a recommendation rests on, and sensitive energy data must not leave Europe.

What makes it special

Generative AI not as a gimmick, but as infrastructure - explainable, supervised and grounded in European values: transparency, data protection, human control. Trained and trialled on sovereign European computing infrastructure, so that sensitive energy data stays in Europe.

Where it works

Pilots are planned in Greece, Turkey and Italy - three very different energy markets with a shared need for clarity.
