What XPONENTIAL Europe really is

XPONENTIAL Europe in Düsseldorf is Europe's leading trade fair for autonomous systems, robotics and uncrewed technologies - the European offshoot of the big American XPONENTIAL, at home in the Rhineland since 2025. After 360 exhibitors from 43 countries at the latest edition, the fair adds another hall in 2027. On display is the full autonomy value chain: sensors, AI software, drones, robotics and autonomous applications across land, air, sea and space.

Why it is on our radar

Because this is where you can watch what is currently converging under the label physical AI: AI that no longer just processes text and data but moves machines. The questions we know from enterprise landscapes shift into the physical world - who is accountable for an autonomous system's decision, how do you test it, how do you secure it? The conference program takes that seriously: dedicated tracks on AI ethics and regulation, a cybersecurity forum, drone forums with authorities and the German armed forces. Autonomy, governance and security are not negotiated separately here - which is exactly how we see the field.

Who should make the trip

Industrial companies preparing to put robotics and autonomous systems into operation and needing a realistic picture of maturity, vendors and regulation. Anyone working at the intersection of drones, geodata and critical infrastructure. And decision-makers from the security and defense world - that strand is growing visibly.

Who might skip it

If your responsibility is purely enterprise IT and office AI, you will find plenty of hardware and little that transfers directly - specialist conferences on data and governance are the better use of your time.

Our read on XPONENTIAL Europe

For us this one is a home game with signal value: autonomous systems are the point where AI governance, data flows and security become physical - from permission models to the question which sensor data a system may trust. With Xient Resilience Intelligence we work on drone- and satellite-based situational awareness ourselves, and Cybersecurity at Xient treats OT and AI security as one discipline. Düsseldorf also sits on our doorstep - short trips, full days.
