Europe Days in Tel Aviv: a day well spent

On October 20, 2026 we attended Europe Days in Tel Aviv. The format is unusual, and that is exactly why it works. In a single day, Israeli startups meet companies, investors and economic development agencies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The direction is reversed: corporates and investors pitch to the founders, followed by sector round tables and pre-booked one-to-one meetings that continue online the following week.

For us it was the densest day of the year. We spoke with people we would otherwise have spent months trying to reach, from representatives of large industrial companies to investors and researchers. Three conversations stayed with us.

With KölnBusiness, the City of Cologne's economic development agency, we discussed how companies from the Rhineland and the Ruhr region can tap into the Israeli ecosystem in a structured way. For a firm based at Wissenschaftspark Gelsenkirchen with roots in Cologne and Leverkusen, that is anything but abstract.

With representatives from the Helmholtz Association environment, the topic was our deep-tech work, above all Xient Resilience Intelligence, our platform for situational awareness in a crisis. The questions from the research side were exactly the right ones, about data fusion, traceability and the role of the human in the decision.

And with several investors we held first conversations about financing our deep-tech line. Nothing is decided, but the talks were concrete, and they continue.

What impressed us about Tel Aviv is the pace. Nobody there asks first whether something is allowed, they ask whether it works. Combining that attitude with European care for governance and trust is precisely where we see Xient.

Europe Days now has a fixed place in our calendar and in the Xient Radar. If you would like to join us in 2027 or are looking for contacts in Israel, get in touch.
