Zukunftskongress Gelsenkirchen on November 9: AI in practice, on our doorstep
On Monday, November 9, 2026, the Zukunftskongress Gelsenkirchen 2026 takes place from 9 am to 5 pm at Wissenschaftspark Gelsenkirchen, the building we work in. It is hosted by the city's economic development agency as part of the 2026 AI Biennale of Digital Campus Zollverein.
The title translates as "AI in practice: experience, understand, apply", and the program lives up to it. Companies, public administration and research from the region show through real projects how AI is already changing work, the city and value creation. There are live demonstrations, a leading panel on Gelsenkirchen as a living lab, and three living labs in the afternoon, including one on the city, administration and infrastructure. The day is opened by Lord Mayor Andrea Henze and State Secretary Daniel Sieveke from the NRW digital ministry.
We will have our own booth that day, showing Xient Bridge live: ask a question in Microsoft Teams, get the answer from SAP, with no data copy and no detour via the colleague who knows the transaction. If you want to see what that could look like in your own landscape, or simply talk about AI in established SAP systems and AI governance, come by the booth. We look forward to familiar faces and new visitors alike. Attendance is free, and registration is available through the city's website.
The date is also listed in the Xient Radar.
