ecoVenio recognised as research and development

BSFZ seal 2026 - ecoVenio recognised as research and development

Germany's certification body for the research allowance (BSFZ) has recognised our own product ecoVenio as a research and development project under the Research Allowance Act (Forschungszulagengesetz). For us this is more than a formality: independent confirmation that real development work sits behind ecoVenio - not the configuration of something known, but research into an open question.

What was assessed

The BSFZ is an independent body established by the German federal government. On behalf of the responsible federal ministry, it assesses whether a project genuinely is research and development - against three criteria: novelty, technical risk and a systematic approach. For ecoVenio, all three are met.

What matters is what the certificate is and is not. It is not a product seal and not a quality verdict on the software, but the official confirmation that the work behind it is research and development - and therefore the basis for Germany's research allowance (a tax incentive for R&D).

What ecoVenio is about

ecoVenio is our engine for greenhouse-gas and ESG metrics in international supply chains. The real difficulty is not the interface, but the data, rule and calculation core: the source data comes from ERP systems, supplier self-disclosures, spreadsheets and product data - in inconsistent formats, units and quality levels. ecoVenio turns this uncertain data into reliable metrics: automatically normalised, assigned to the right scopes, calculated with versioned emission factors and fully traceable.

Put differently: uncertain supply-chain data becomes reproducible, explainable and auditable figures.

Why this fits us

We don't only work on the systems of today, but also on the technologies of tomorrow. ecoVenio is a concrete example: developed out of operative data and SAP reality, and now confirmed as a research and development project. What we say about clarity in complex data, we develop here ourselves - substance over consulting facade.
